Organised by Audiology Planet

23rd to 25th May 2017; London, UK

This three-day event is aimed mainly at paediatric audiologists, although the symposium on the third day may be relevant to other professionals involved in care of children with compromised hearing function e.g. specialist teachers, paediatric otologists, audio-vestibular physicians and speech therapists etc.

The focus of the event will be on holistic approach to paediatric amplification. Key discussion topics will be in the following areas:

1)    Paediatric assessment via physiological and behavioural assessment including visual reinforcement audiometry (VRA) with peer review;

2)    Optimising the amplification via verification and validation of hearing devices; and

3)    Translating clinical excellence into high quality child and family centred care.

There will be plenty of live and video based practical workshops to maximise the learning. With a great line-up of national and international speakers, the course is likely to be very popular so, early booking is recommended.

AUDITORY PROCESSING DISORDER WORKSHOP

CONFIRMED SPEAKERS DR JAMES W. HALL III, PH.D.; DR HARVEY DILLON

Organised by Audiology Planet

15th and 16th May 2017; London, UK

This two-day event is aimed at audiologists and other professionals involved in the diagnosis and/or management of Auditory Processing Disorders (APD)

A selection of audiological tests will be explained with recommendations on when they should be incorporated into the test battery approach, particularly when various other conditions co-exist with APD.

The tests will include procedures for assessment of:

Speech-in-noise

Gap detection (temporal processing)

Dichotic listening

Pattern recognition

Localization and spatial

There will be practical training offered during the event to maximise the learning.

The course is uniquely designed as, for the first time, we will be offering a special online case discussion workshop with Dr James Hall, following the main event.

So, this event will be a great opportunity to have ongoing mentorship and support that the clinicians often need in the niche areas of clinical practice such as APD.
